The first release in this second incarnation of the Classic Music Company comes from label co-founder Luke Solomon. Having previously released EP’s on the label under aliases Jean Caffeine and The Digital Kid, ‘Interceptor’ marks his label debut under his own name, delivering an original that sounds like it was created in the darkest corners of The Warehouse, Power Plant and Music Box. A remix from the other label co-founder Derrick Carter sees another first, the first time these two heads have ever combined on a record, and it doesn’t disappoint as Derrick delivers a technical rework that drops hard. Manchester duo Kamo provide a remix so unclassifiable that it is instantly and uniquely ‘classic’. Finally the Mark E Remix is trademark…slow burning, hypnotic and immediately effective.
